A sofa-bed in the lounge can accommodate 2 additional guests and there is ample room for 2 cots. Prices will be slightly more expensive than Elisabeth Cottage but have still to be finalised. Furnished to our same high standard, Salruth Cottage enjoys a unique location in Clackmannanshire, Central Scotland with its proximity to a multitude of varying major attractions.

Less than 8 miles from the historic city of Stirling and 6 miles from the Wallace Monument, the accommodation makes a wonderful choice for a year round break for couples or families.

Clackmannanshire, Stirlingshire and Fife abound with scenic, yet inexpensive, golf courses for all standards; provides fishing in local rivers and Gartmorn Dam Fishery; has miles and miles of flat, off-road, car-free cycling opportunities; features unparalleled off-road walking and running routes. The cottage itslef is less than 3 miles from the magnificent backdrop of the Ochil Hills which, in themsleves, provide hill walking routes for all standards, young and old, with breathtaking views for all.

For the less energetic, Clackmannanshire, Stirlingshire and Fife are steeped in history and offer the shopper a wealth of variety. For the twitcher, Gartmorn Dam Country Park and Nature Reserve provides a temporary home for migratory birds and, for the young and maybe not so young,  an opportunity to feed the ducks and swans.

Being located in the town of Alloa, the cottage affords the holidaymaker after a day's sightseeing, the choice of walking to the nearest pub or enjoying a relaxing evening in the large secluded rear garden - without the worry of who is driving. Alternatively, the local train station is less than 10 minutes walk away and Glasgow (30 miles), Edinburgh (35 miles), Stirling (8 miles) and Perth (33 miles) all within easy reach.

Other attractions within easy travelling distance of the cottage include Culross, Dunfermline Abbey, the Falkirk Wheel, Gleneagles Golf Courses and Dollar.

Slightly further afield, but still within 50 miles, are The Trossachs and St. Andrews.
